The inaugural Manchester Half Marathon saw a staggering 74% of the first 50 athletes achieve a persona best or season best. With a mere 41m elevation gain and a glorious 2 mile+ straight finish; this flat, fast course makes the Manchester Half Marathon ideal for charity runners new to half marathons and experienced runners alike.
The Manchester Half Marathon starts and finishes at Emirates Old Trafford Lancashire County Cricket Club, the same venue as the popular ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon. It takes runners on wide, closed roads through Old Trafford, Stretford, Brooklands and Sale, and we are once again promising plenty of entertainment and outstanding crowd support en-route.
In 2018 a total of 15,000 places are available for the Manchester Half Marathon. We are anticipating a sell-out, with more than half of the runners coming from outside the Greater Manchester area.
In 2016 22% of our runners ran for charity raising a staggering £1.5million.
