St Mark’s Hospital Foundation supports research, education, and innovation at St Mark’s, the UK’s national bowel hospital. Since 1835, St Mark’s has improved the survival and health-related quality of life of people with complex and rare bowel diseases.
Over 50,000 patients are cared for at St Mark’s annually, and as a tertiary referral centre, 60% of our patients are referred from other UK hospitals to receive specialist care. Our clinical teams are experts in all aspects of gastrointestinal diseases, and St Mark’s is internationally recognized as one of the world’s leading specialist hospitals for gastroenterology.
The projects we support have driven significant clinical improvements for patients living with complex bowel conditions and enhanced the understanding of these diseases. By funding cutting-edge research and providing educational resources, we enable healthcare professionals to stay at the forefront of medical advancements.
As we receive no government funding, our work is only possible because of the generosity of voluntary contributors, including individuals, charities, and corporate partners. Their support is invaluable in transforming patient care and advancing scientific knowledge in bowel health.
