St Basils is a charity that works with 16 – 25 year olds who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Each year we work with over 4000 young people, providing accommodation, advice and support across Birmingham and the Midlands. Since 2011, St Basils has operated as a psychologically informed environment, training staff in psychological theories which promote long-lasting development, learning, compassion and positive change. We have long since realised that providing a bed alone is not enough for young people to break the cycle of homelessness, and regain the stability to rebuild their lives. We offer our young people access to a Life Skills programme, which gives them the necessary skills to live independently and an accredited qualification. Alongside this also sits our employability programme, which works with young people to get them into employment, education or training.
