SADS UK works with schools, communities, offices, sports clubs, leisure centres etc., installing thousands of defibrillators and teaching CPR across the country. Lives have been saved as a direct result of the work of SADS UK. In addition, the SADS UK Big Shock Campaign lobbies Government to make defibrillators compulsory in all schools to help save young lives. When a cardiac arrest occurs early CPR and defibrillation is essential to give a person the best chance of survival.
The premature sudden death of a healthy person is devastating. SADS UK provides information and support to families and individuals living with life threatening cardiac conditions and supports people who have been bereaved through a sudden and unexpected cardiac death.
Supporting research and providing support to people impacted by a potentially life-threatening cardiac condition or a sudden and unexpected cardiac death is a very important part of the work of the charity.
