The Pelvic Partnership is a small charity offering support and information to women experiencing pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain (PGP). PGP affects around one in five women during and after pregnancy, causing pain, immobility and leading to associated mental health impacts. Fortunately, PGP can be safely and effectively treated with hands-on manual therapy, such as physiotherapy, osteopathy and chiropractic care.
We recognise the importance of ensuring women can access clear information about PGP and its treatment on our website, free ebook and social media channels, so they can access the right care, support and treatment they need as soon as symptoms appear. In response to feedback from our service users, we have also developed a free toolkit for women with PGP to help them describe how PGP affects their physical and mental health. We also have a range of support services for women experiencing PGP moderated by our trained peer volunteers, including a telephone helpline, a Facebook support group with 3000 members, monthly Q&As on our Instagram stories and 1:1 support on social media.
We also work collaboratively with healthcare practitioners to raise awareness about PGP and its treatment and promote best practice in the treatment of PGP with hands-on manual therapy.
