Herts Young Homeless

hyh provides education, advice, and support to young people aged 16 to 24 and their families across Hertfordshire. Our services include Education, Mediation, Counselling, the hyh Hub, Outreach, and the Future Roots Housing Project. We aim to deliver high-quality, tailored support that reflects the individual needs of each young person. We are committed to working inclusively across diverse communities, ensuring our services are accessible to young people from BAME backgrounds, LGBTQ+ communities, and those living with disabilities.

Prevention is at the core of everything we do. We believe the most effective way to tackle youth homelessness is by addressing it before it begins. This involves recognising early warning signs, supporting young people and their families, and delivering timely, effective interventions.

Our vision is that every young person has a safe, secure home where they can grow, thrive, and reach their full potential. To realise this, we work both one-to-one and at a systemic level to address the root causes of homelessness—such as family breakdown, mental health challenges, education barriers, and housing insecurity.

Through innovative and sustainable approaches, we strive to create lasting change and help young people build brighter, independent futures.
