HEART UK is the only charity in the UK dedicated to supporting people with high cholesterol and their families which affects over half of UK adults. Our mission is for people to know and understand their cholesterol and other blood fat levels and take appropriate action.
Our work aims to prevent avoidable and early deaths caused by cholesterol - a mjor risk factor for heart attacks and strokes. Our website provides reliable information and resources about cholesterol, diet and exercise. Our helpline is run by a specialist cardiac nurse and a dietician, who provide much-needed impartial advice to those affected. Our public campaigns raise awareness about the risks of high cholesterol, and we advocate for better detection of those at risk, whilst we educate healthcase professionals to improve early detection, treatment and case of people with high cholesterol and inherited conditions.
We receive no government funding and rely on your donations and fundraising to fund our work.
