Galop

Founded over 40 years ago, Galop is the UK’s charity supporting victims and survivors of abuse and violence across all gender identities and sexual orientations within the LGBT+ community, and we are intersectional in our approach to providing this support.

Each year, we support over 10,000 LGBT+ individuals who have experienced abuse and violence. Our expertise includes supporting victims of domestic abuse, sexual violence, hate crimes, and other forms of abuse, such as honour-based violence, forced marriage, and conversion therapy. 

Our specialist services include our helpline, trauma-informed counselling, and advocacy and support. Our Policy and Research team use what we learn through our frontline work to push for national and local policy change and improve outcomes for LGBT+ victims and survivors of abuse and violence.

As a by-and-for organisation, Galop’s services are run by LGBT+ people, for LGBT+ people.
