Cornerhouse (Yorkshire)
Informed decisions, positive steps
Cornerhouse has been supporting communities across Hull and East Yorkshire for nearly 40 years, adapting our services over time to respond to emerging needs. Today, we work with young people and their families across a range of areas, with sexual health remaining at the heart of what we do.
We support young people to build healthy relationships, reduce their risk of exploitation, and make informed choices about their behaviours. Our work focuses on developing emotional awareness, resilience and self-regulation, supporting young people to explore and feel confident in their identities, including sexual orientation and gender identity, and enabling them to navigate challenges safely and confidently. We also provide support for parents and carers, equipping them with the skills and confidence to have open, informed conversations and strengthen family relationships.
We offer a range of delivery methods including one-to-one support, street-based youth outreach, and group work. We also provide education and training for young people, parents, and professionals, covering topics related to health, wellbeing, and relationships.
Across all services, we take a trauma-informed approach, valuing young people’s experiences and empowering them to take positive next steps in their lives.
