For over 130 years, Children North East have helped to transform the lives of babies, children, young people and families across our region. In challenging circumstances, our teams are there to provide compassionate, expert support, often when there is nowhere else to turn for help.
We exist because we want all babies, children and young people to be happy and healthy, and to grow up feeling safe and loved, resilient to the challenges they may face; and valued and confident.
Last year we worked with 4,132 people and delivered over 1 million minutes of support.
We deliver services, support and initiatives that provide a platform for children, young people and families to work through issues, take action and provide them with the tools to reach their full potential. These include:
- Therapeutic Services
- Mental Health Support (including specialised support for those with unique needs, including those with SEND, neurodiverse young people and refugees)
- Youth Work
- Domestic Abuse Support
- Family Support
- Community Services
- Poverty Proofing©
We also campaign on issues affecting babies, children and young people and their families.
