The Cardinal Hume Centre strives towards a society where everyone has a safe place to live and the opportunity to reach their full potential. We focus on young people, children and families in Westminster; responding to local need to address poverty and rising homelessness. Since we opened our doors, our founding principle has been to see the value in each individual and nurture potential, believing that each person matters. At the very root of this is the understanding that dignity is innate, not earned. We have a 39-bed supported accommodation hostel for young people and provide wrap-around services for children and families at risk of homelessness. By focusing on four areas of need - safe housing, increasing income and secure work, citizenship and belonging, improved wellbeing and access to support - the Centre enables people to gain the skills they need to overcome poverty and homelessness.
