ADHD Embrace

We work to ensure that children with ADHD are understood, supported and most importantly thrive.

Young people with ADHD face challenges at home, school, and in society—leading to discrimination, isolation, school exclusion, poor mental health, and lost potential. We believe this can change if we equip young people and the communities who support them with the right knowledge, tools and practical and emotional support to help them reach their full potential.

ADHD Embrace is a community-centric charity supporting young people with ADHD.  For over twenty years, the charity has provided information, practical support and training so that children with ADHD are better understood, well supported and able to thrive at home and at school.

5% of the population have ADHD and early intervention and support can change the outcome of a child’s life.

At the heart of what we do is a support community for the parents that empowers them give the right help to their children, deal with real-life problems like school refusal or exclusion, and cope with the consequences of neurodiversity on family dynamics and mental well-being.

Our services for teachers and SENCo's both locally and nationwide addresses a structural gap in specialist-ADHD teacher training, helping schools move towards more neuroinclusive classrooms and policies. Our Schools Outreach Programme also increases awareness and understanding of the condition and its comorbities amongst parents and carers of pupils with a diagnosis or those yet to be diagnosed.

We also advocate on behalf of our community of ADHD families ensuring that both national and local government support services and policies don't ignore the true needs of families and teachers trying to make things better.
