Starting in Centre Square, outside the Town Hall and MIMA gallery, the road closed course heads out through Albert Park, passing the home of Middlesbrough FC at Riverside Stadium, before looping around the docks to finish back in Centre Square. Coach Core improves the life-chances of disadvantaged young people aged 16-24 who are not in education, employment or training. Through sports apprenticeships they can access the skills, confidence and knowledge needed to unlock meaningful education and employment opportunities whilst also positively working with communities in real need of sports provision, thereby getting literally thousands of other young people across the UK physically active. The pandemic has highlighted the importance of activity for physical and mental wellbeing. Coach Core programmes have never been more needed.
