Melon Sorbet

We all love a frozen treat but calorie laden ice cream, whist delicious can be detrimental to your diet. Try this melon sorbet, easy to make and fat free, to give you your frozen fix on a hot day. Super easy to make and something that will help to quench your thirst after a run or as a fantastic dessert after your main meal.


  • 1 very ripe melon of any type
  • 50g caster sugar
  • juice of a lemon or lime
  • Method

  • Peel and discard the seeds of the melon, and place all the flesh into a food processor
  • Add the lime or lemon juice and the caster sugar, and whizz up until you have a smooth puree
  • Give it a little taste to check for sweetness
  • Put it into an ice cream machine, and follow the usual instructions until frozen
  • If you do not have an ice cream machine, simply place in a shallow freezer proof container, and freeze, taking out to mix thoroughly with a fork every 2 hours to break up the ice crystals
