Starting in Centre Square, outside the Town Hall and MIMA gallery, the road closed course heads out through Albert Park, passing the home of Middlesbrough FC at Riverside Stadium, before looping around the docks to finish back in Centre Square. Our mission is to harness the power of international science to deliver revolutionary treatments. Thanks to the innovative research we have already funded, many experimental treatments have had ground-breaking changes on spinal cord injury and its effects in the laboratory and others are in human trials.
We are determined to see these treatments progress and transfer to the clinical environment where they can transform lives. This medical research will not only benefit people with a spinal cord injury but also advance treatments for other neurological conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s, Motor Neurone Disease, Strokes and Dementia.
We receive no government funding and rely entirely on the support of the public to raise funds for our research. Because of the efforts of our supporters, we have funded over 140 research projects which have achieved a number of groundbreaking changes in the field.
