As you begin your journey, you’ll follow the winding track along Wall Side Plantation, where the gentle rustling of leaves provides a calming soundtrack to your run. The path leads you up to Sugar Hill, where you can catch your first glimpse of the sprawling estate. From there, you’ll pass close to the iconic sets of Emmerdale, adding a touch of local culture to your scenic adventure.
Continuing on, you'll arrive at the Eccup Reservoir, the largest body of water in West Yorkshire. Here, the tranquil waters are surrounded by rich biodiversity, including rare bird species and unique plant life, making this a perfect spot for nature enthusiasts. As you soak in the breathtaking vistas, take a moment to appreciate the harmony of the landscape.
After reveling in the beauty of the reservoir, you’ll make your way back towards Harewood House through Carr Plantation and Piper Wood. These enchanting wooded areas are filled with towering trees and vibrant flora, offering a picturesque backdrop as you navigate the trails. The sights and sounds of nature will accompany you as you pass the tranquil lake, a highlight of the route.
