But while 1 in 5 people in the UK will live with severe sight loss or blindness in their lifetime, less than 1.5% of public medical research funding is spent on eye disease.

We raise funds to invest in world-class research that is on the cusp of turning the most promising scientific discoveries into new treatments, diagnostics, or devices for people with sight-threatening conditions. From amblyopia in young children to age-related macular degeneration, we fund world-class research into eye disease affecting children or adults. In the UK today, some 2 million people are living with a degree of sight loss that has a significant impact on their daily lives.
