The Brighton Marathon is a relatively new charity running event and has definitely taken up the status as "the new kid on the block!" The course takes in all that Brighton has to offer and is a must do event for any charity runner. You are taken around the beautiful Preston Park, through the historic city centre and you are provided with all the the best scenery that the South Downs have to offer. If you have missed out on the ballot why not sign up for one of our Brighton Marathon charity places.

About the race

As you line up for the start of the Brighton Marathon, you can immediately see similarities to another big charity running event that takes place not a million miles away, which can only be a good thing. Charities have been fully incorporated in the event and make everything very colourful. The charity involvement mixed with the volume of interest from the local people makes the atmosphere buzz. The start is well organised as you take off with 10,000 other charity, fun and club runners. You can't help but feel psyched up and ready for the marathon attempt ahead with the scenes of jubilation and excitement from your fellow runners. Brighton is a great area of the country to run in, throughout the race you can feel the cool breeze blowing in from the coast while you take in the pleasant views in and around the city. The route is most enjoyable and has a well balanced mix of urban, country and coastal parts. The streets are lined with cheering supporters throughout and the numbers grow the closer to the finish line you get. The finish is laid out perfectly and the huge cheers from the 1000's and 1000's of adoring supporters, charity and local make for a grand finale.

Fundraising

The Brighton Marathon is definitely a charity fundraising event so make sure you help to grow their ever increasing fundraising total. Aim for at least £1000 as your fundraising target. Check out the run for charity fundraising A to Z for some great ideas to help you reach your target.
