At CRIBS International, we house and support refugee women in their final trimester of pregnancy or those with newborns who have arrived in Greece after fleeing conflict and exploitation. We provide assistance during the first 12 months of a baby’s life to ensure women can bring up their children in a safe, supportive space all while giving them time to plan their next steps.
By providing shelter, safety and support, we prevent homelessness and protect lives. We work to empower women to begin to recover from trauma, get back on their feet and rebuild their lives. Our goal is to provide the support needed to live independently and become part of the community to which circumstances have brought them.
We operate under a core principle: to be led by the voices we support. Founded on the belief in the agency of refugee women, our approach is rooted in collaboration, empathy and empowerment.
CRIBS offers a number of different services as well as housing including: high level casework through our case managers who are on hand 7 days a week, a free shop serving the wider refugee community in Athens, our community space and our weekly women’s group.
