Wildlife SOS

Wildlife SOS works tirelessly to protect and care for India’s precious wildlife such as elephants and leopards, who, due to injury or lives of abuse cannot return to the wild. Wildlife SOS has skilled rescue and medical teams, an elephant ambulance, 12 sanctuaries and India’s first and only Elephant Hospital for treating crippled, sick and geriatric elephants rescued from the tourist industry.

We strongly believe that wildlife conservation can’t have a permanent impact without addressing the challenges faced by animals and humans alike. Exploitation of wildlife is most often a cycle of poverty, opportunity and tradition. This is why we take an holistic view of saving both individuals and animals, generating alternative sustainable livelihoods for people involved in wildlife exploitation. A great example of this is our work in eradicating the age old practice of the Dancing Bears of India.

We rescue 1000’s of injured animals annually, from birds to towering bull elephants, sending rescue teams to remote locations, as well as to busy city roadways, train stations, homes and businesses. As a non-profit organisation we receive no funding from the authorities, supporters such as yourselves are key to Wildlife SOS continuing its essential work.
