Starfish exists to change the lives of children who have been made vulnerable or orphaned by HIV and poverty in South Africa.

We invest in the future of over 15,000 children a year so that they can grow into happy and independent young adults. Our vision is a future where vulnerable children receive the life, hope and opportunities they deserve.

By concentrating on three key areas of intervention education, healthcare and child protection - we are building a better future, one child at a time, and in turn lifting whole communities out of the vicious cycle of poverty and HIV.

Our mobile health clinics, known as the Starfish Wellness Wagons provide head to toe check- ups, testing for HIV, TB, Diabetes, and mineral deficiencies. They visit children in schools so that children can stay at school and maximize their learning potential.

Our care workers identify vulnerable children in the community and provide holistic care. From crèches to vocational training for school leavers, we enable children to harness their talents and gain sustainable employment.
