SOS began as a social support group in 2015, founded by Michael Mansfield and Yvette Greenway-Mansfield, following personal losses to suicide. They decided the elephant in the room needed to be discussed openly to help fight shame, stigma, and silence surrounding mental health and suicide. Here at SOS we advocate for compassion in society to encourage understanding, tolerance and kindness.
We are a suicide prevention and emotional wellbeing service dedicated to supporting individuals who may be struggling emotionally, regardless of their reasons. We firmly believe that no one should have to face their challenges alone, and our team is here to offer a compassionate ear and a helping hand to anyone who needs it.
Despite being a small charity, we have a huge heart and an unwavering commitment to providing a safe space for those in need. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or hopeless, please know that you are not alone, and support is just a phone call away.
If you're over 12 years of age and could use some support, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at 0808 115 1505. Our trained volunteers are available to listen and support to help you navigate through difficult times.
Together, we can make a difference. Help us spread the word and encourage those in need to reach out for support. Let's Stop the Silence, Start the Conversation.
