Sophie Hayes Foundation works with women survivors of modern slavery, human trafficking and exploitation to rebuild and develop the skills, confidence and independence to help them achieve sustainable freedom. Over the short and long term, we provide tailored programmes of support through activities to develop vital skills and experiences including through opportunities in education and employment. Without long term support and skills for the future, survivors are at high-risk of re-exploitation.
"This really changed my life, it changed my mental health. All we discussed took me to divert the way I am thinking. There is a hope for the future. There is more out there and that thought changed my life." Programme participant
"Sophie Hayes Foundation teaches us to build the confidence. I learnt a lot. I have enough confidence now to speak. So many people are giving their opinion everywhere but I am not giving mine, I used to be quiet now I speak what is in my mind. Also, I am not scared about applying for a job.” Programme participant
We work with a community of survivors to amplify their voices, challenge assumptions and work with policymakers and businesses to understand and tackle the root causes of exploitation.
