Respect

Respect is the leading UK charity working to end domestic abuse by addressing it at its roots and focusing on the people who perpetrate it as well male victims and young people who use violence in their close relationships.

The reason we do this is because we care about survivors of domestic abuse. We also believe that we need to shift the responsibility for domestic ending away from survivors to perpetrators and ask the question, “why doesn’t s/he stop?” rather than “why doesn’t s/he leave?”

Those who commit domestic abuse will do so for years and against multiple partners when nothing is done to stop it. Over the last 20 years Respect has led the way in developing safe and effective work with people who perpetrate domestic abuse to make victims and survivors safe and stop it in its tracks.

Survivors need support and that includes stopping the person perpetrating the abuse. This is a challenge, but Respect has been proving it’s possible.

Are you up for a challenge? Run for Respect, cycle, trek or bungee jump and raise money to help us end domestic abuse for good.
