Having a child diagnosed with cancer turns family life upside down. Uncertainty over treatment, long hospital stays, money worries and social isolation can tear families apart and leave them unsure who to turn to. At PASIC, we help families of children diagnosed with cancer in the East Midlands by providing practical, social, emotional & financial support. We’re there for children on treatment, during end-of-life care, bereavement and up to three years post-treatment. We fund Support Workers at Nottingham & Leicester’s Children’s Hospitals, and Northampton General. We organise free days out for the whole family to reduce isolation and give access to a community of support. We provide grants to help families cope with the hidden costs of having a seriously ill child, as well as compassionate grants to support with funeral costs when young people don’t recover. We offer fun respite activities and essentials on the ward to make hospital stays more fun, and that little bit easier. We provide counselling to help families process the trauma of childhood cancer. We help children on end-of-life care make happy memories with their families.
