One YMCA

One YMCA exists as an organisation for the benefit of others, to change and save lives. Supporting around 120,000 of society’s most vulnerable individuals across Herts, Beds and Bucks to belong, contribute and thrive.

We provide:

  • Accommodation, support and guidance to those facing homelessness
  • Support for those experiencing domestic abuse and sexual violence
  • Help for families through our Family and Children’s Centres and in our community nursery
  • Places for improving overall health and wellbeing at our community hubs and gym
  • Support and advice for young people

The largest of our service areas is housing, providing safe and secure accommodation to those most in need. Our highly-experienced support and complex-needs team help our residents to address past traumas and rebuild their lives using a new five-stage model to break the cycle of homelessness.

In the last financial year, our services made a saving of £11.7m to the public purse including supporting over a thousand vulnerable individuals to escape rough sleeping or avoid homelessness.
