Maternal Mental Health Alliance

About the Maternal Mental Health Alliance (MMHA)

The MMHA is a UK-wide charity and network of 130 member organisations, parents, and clinicians dedicated to ensuring all women and families impacted by perinatal mental health problems have access to high-quality, compassionate care.

Why we exist

Mums, babies, and their families are suffering right now. We won’t stop until every new and expectant parent in the UK gets the mental health support they need before, during and after pregnancy.

Our story

The MMHA was founded in 2011 by people with lived experience and organisations who understand the impact of perinatal mental problems and are committed to improving the lives of women and their families. Today, we have evolved into the largest perinatal mental health alliance in the world.

How create change

We speak with one voice. Together, we harness our shared expertise, energy and passion to drive the change needed for the mental health needs of women and their families in the perinatal period.
