In 1985, a local mother residing in Sutton created one of the UK’s first family support group after going through her own experience of dealing with her son’s drug and alcohol addiction. The group started in Dorothea’s home, and soon flourished, developed and expanded to become what is CDARS today. Covering the five South West London boroughs, CDARS now works with some 1200 people experiencing mental health issues, substance and alcohol misuse issues as well as other complex issues such as having a neurodiverse condition. Our holistic approach helps them improve their mental, physical, social and emotional wellbeing; their recovery and re-integration, whilst also providing much needed support to their family and significant others. CDARS has built a track record of delivering innovative programmes that help our clients make positive lifestyle choices and improve their wellbeing, to lead more fulfilling lives.
