Chester Pride

Chester Pride works all year around to support the LGBTQ+ community, particularly with mental health and discrimination. The main focus of our activity is our annual Chester Pride event, which is a grand celebration of the community. We also work to address the high rates of mental health issues and social isolation within our community through our support activities, such as our social groups and befriender service. We create safe spaces where our community can connect, and get the support they need, and our community cafe, the Rainbow Tea Rooms, helps us to achieve this. Our focus is on being the voice of our LGBTQ+ community, so we also work to advocate for them, raising awareness of the issues affecting them, and working with businesses and statutory services to improve inclusivity. We work to create a society where LGBTQ+ people are free from prejudice and discrimination, and can live openly, without fear, as themselves.
