The British Hen Welfare Trust’s mission is to raise awareness and influence commercial hen welfare and to strengthen and contribute to the highest welfare for commercial and domestic kept hens. Since 2005, we have rehomed over 900,000 ex-commercial laying hens, saving them from slaughter and finding loving homes for them to enjoy a free-range retirement.
As for so many, our charity is facing increasing difficulties because of sharply rising costs as well as – more uniquely to us – the challenges created by repeated outbreaks of Avian Influenza. We need your help to continue doing the ground-breaking work we do as we adapt to new ways of operating that overcome these challenges. But most importantly we need your support to keep on reaching tens of thousands of hens each year and transforming the outlook for hens everywhere.
