Born Free Foundation

The Born Free Foundation is an international wildlife charity founded by Virginia McKenna OBE and Bill Travers MBE, stars of the iconic 1966 film Born Free. The foundation is devoted to wild animal welfare and compassionate conservation, with numerous vital wildlife projects and animal sanctuaries in Asia, Africa, the USA and across the globe.

Over more than three decades, Born Free has saved hundreds of animals like lions, tigers, primates and elephants, both through wildlife rescues and conservation campaigns. Born Free is in the field today, protecting vulnerable species and working to end the suffering of individual wild animals in captivity. The charity's President, Will Travers OBE, Bill Travers and Virginia McKenna's son, states: 'Born Free's successes have been achieved through a combination of blood, sweat and tears - and your unstinting help and support'.

Will you join us to stand up for animals and keep wildlife in the wild?
