Birmingham Dogs Home is one of the region’s oldest and best loved charities. We have been working across the Midlands to rescue, reunite and rehome abandoned and neglected dogs for almost 130 years. We are entirely reliant on the generosity of the general public and businesses in the communities where we work to operate.
We care for over 2,000 homeless dogs 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days of the year at our rescue centres in Birmingham and Wolverhampton. We do not receive any government funding and it costs £2.3 million every year to run our centres. We are trusted by nine local authorities to rescue and rehome lost, stray and abandoned dogs as well as reunite lost dogs with worried owners. We also work in our local communities providing education talks and resources, working with schools, hospices, retirement homes, scouting groups and community groups. Core to our values is providing the highest level of animal welfare we can for every dog that needs us. Your support will help us to help local homeless dogs to learn how to wag again and give them the very best chance of happier tomorrows.
