Bipolar UK

Did you know that over 1 million people in the UK have bipolar? That’s one in fifty people! Or that it takes, on average, 10.5 years to get a correct diagnosis?

The prevalence of bipolar is a surprise to many; matched only by shock that many people with bipolar continue to lack the basic support and treatment needed to live well with the condition

That’s where we come in.

Bipolar UK is here to support and empower more people affected by bipolar – a mental health diagnosis characterised by significant mood swings including manic highs and depressive lows. Bipolar disorder increases an individual’s risk of suicide by up to 20 times, and the diagnosis rates are only increasing, with young people more likely to screen positive than older people. It is our mission to support and empower more people affected by bipolar to live well with the condition; we currently help over 80,000 individuals and families a year through a blend of free services across the country.

It is our goal to ensure that everyone affected by this devastating condition can find the support they need when they need it.
