Arts 4 Dementia offers challenging arts programmes with arts organisations for people in the early stages of dementia and their carers. Our website provides a unique national mapped listing of arts workshops for people living with dementia enabling them to find local opportunities; and we train arts facilitators from around the country in early-stage dementia awareness. The 750-plus trained to date will deliver arts events to over 15,000 people with dementia and carers in the next year. A4D focuses on what people can achieve, often very much more than they imagine. The charity is playing a leading role in a national initiative for social prescribing (guidance from GPs and associated “link workers” towards activities for wellbeing) for people living with dementia.
