BACKGROUND
Alfie's Wish is a small charity based on the South Coast. It was set up by Alfie's parents, Charlotte and James, after Alfie passed away aged 5 years old in January 2020 following a courageous 5 year battle with brain cancer. The charity supports children with cancer aged 0-16 years across the South Coast of England and London by providing them with a day out or experience in the UK to make memories with their family.
WHY WE DO IT
Every day 12 children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. When a child is diagnosed, life becomes full of fear, for them and their family. Fear of treatment, but also families being torn apart, overwhelmed by money worries and what the future holds for them.
We know just how important it is to make memories when your child is fighting cancer and how special family time is. The financial impact that cancer has can be overwhelming, so funding days out can often be impossible. Whether it’s a theme park, zoo, museum, sporting/music event, or something else, our aim is to get children there to make their dreams come true.
FUNDRAISING
As a small charity, we rely on our supporters to fundraise as much as they can to help us provide as many days out as possible and continue to make dreams come true. Events like this is a perfect opportunity to do this so we really appreciate your support.
