BRACE funds world class clinical and laboratory research into Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia to find better treatments, achieve earlier diagnosis and one day, a cure!
Founded in 1987 by doctors, scientists and volunteers whose families were affected by the disease, BRACE was supporting dementia research long before news broadcasts were full of dementia stories and a consensus formed that Dementia is not a natural part of the aging process and answers were needed urgently.
The challenge we face is that dementia research remains troublingly underfunded: nationally, for every £10 spent on dementia care and support, just 8 pence is spent on the research to defeat it. However, real progress has been made in the past 30 years, and we could be on the brink of significant breakthroughs in our understanding of the causes of dementia and our ability to treat patients, all thanks to the support you give! Every penny we raise is helping against the global fight to defeat dementia.
