This fast and flat course starts and finishes on Victoria Avenue in the center of Cambridge, with Midsummer Common as the event site. Previous courses have guided athletes from Midsummer Common through the city center and have included exclusive access to four University of Cambridge colleges, providing breathtaking views and a glimpse of iconic landmarks not typically visible.

APOPO UK facilitates the training and deployment of African giant pouched rats, known as HeroRATs and technical survey dogs, known as HeroDOGs to save lives. Through the use of innovative animal scent detection techniques for social good, most notably for landmine and tuberculosis detection, people are freed from fear and disease. Other APOPO innovation projects emerging include training the HeroRATs in search and rescue, detecting soil pollutants, and helping to prevent the illegal trafficking of endangered species/animal parts and hardwoods around the globe.
