Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity provide specialist nurses and support for seriously ill children. There are currently over 120 Road Dahl Nurses caring for more than 33,000 seriously ill children, but there are still too many children with serious illnesses who do not receive this vital specialist care. We understand how immensely difficult being diagnosed with a serious illness is for a child and their whole family. It is uncertain, overwhelming, scary, and deeply unfair. It can be isolating and takes over your whole life. Navigating this challenging and complex world can be daunting, particularly when an initial diagnosis is made. And that is where our marvellous Roald Dahl Nurses come in – ensuring that seriously ill children no longer brave their illnesses alone. Roald Dahl Nurses are trained and dedicated experts in their field. They are a consistent presence in the child’s life from initial diagnosis through to the child’s transition to adult services. They advise, they reassure, and they become an extended part of the family. The dedication and expertise of our nurses reduces A&E visits, hospital admissions and consultant appointments. They’re also a vital lifeline to the whole family, coordinating care and providing access to high quality emotional support.
