Ovarian Cancer Action

Accelerating progress to make ovarian cancer a survivable disease for all women

We are the UK’s ovarian cancer research charity. In the UK only 1 in 3 women live more than 10 years after diagnosis. We are working to better prevent, treat and spot ovarian cancer. So that by 2032 at least half of women with ovarian cancer live for 10 years.

We back researchers looking for ways to find cancer early. We team up with clinicians trialing new treatments. And, with our inspiring community, we campaign for equal access to treatment for women of every age, race and postcode.

We are Ovarian Cancer Action and we’ll be here until no woman dies of ovarian cancer.

We are Ovarian Cancer Action. In 2022, only 3 in 10 women diagnosed with ovarian cancer live beyond 10 years. It’s unacceptable. It’s vital we accelerate progress to make ovarian cancer survivable for all women.

So we’re supercharging our work to transform survival rates, focusing on three key areas:

Knowledge - Only 1 in 10 women know the main symptoms of ovarian cancer. Our lifesaving awareness campaigns work to change the future for women of today and tomorrow so they know what to look out for.

Breakthroughs - We’ve invested over £12 million in research – more than any other UK expert funder in the UK. We’re working towards ground-breaking new treatments, laying the groundwork for a screening programme and building better care pathways. Last year alone, our research contributed 11 new discoveries.

Fairness - We must make sure that women have access to the best care and information regardless of age, ethnicity, or location. Our IMPROVE UK programme is tackling severe regional and systemic inequalities in outcomes experienced by patients.

But we can only get there with your help. Together, we’ll turn the tide on ovarian cancer and save more Mothers, sisters and friends.
