Only A Pavement Away is the national charity that supports people looking to rebuild their lives through employment opportunities in hospitality. The charity acts as a vital bridge between forward thinking employers in the hospitality industry and referral partners working with individuals facing homelessness, and prison leavers, to help them rebuild their lives through long term, stable employment.

Only A Pavement Away helps individuals get from where they are to where they want to be through employment opportunities, financial support and tailored learning & development.

To date, the charity has placed over 850 people into employment, and we have had over 7,500 engagements with our Employment Support and Learning & Development sessions, adding an approximate value of £34M to the economy through reduced government support, financial independence, and household expenditure.

We have an ambitious vision to support 1,500 members into employment and achieve at least 15,000 engagements with our Learning & Development programmes by 2030.

Our purpose is to provide these individuals with the tailored learning and development, financial support, and stable employment. By acting as a bridge between forward-thinking employers in hospitality and charity referral partners, we help place people in meaningful jobs that create long-term stability. To date, we’ve helped over 700 people secure jobs in hospitality, contributing over £26 million back into society.

Our vision is to support 1,000 members into employment by the end of 2025 and 5,000 individuals annually by 2030.

Through our work, we strive to make a lasting impact on both the people we support and the broader hospitality industry.
