Ichthyosis Support Group

The Ichthyosis Support Group (ISG) is the only charity in the UK and Ireland dedicated to supporting those affected by ichthyosis, a rare genetic skin condition. Ichthyosis causes the skin to become thick, dry, and scaly, and in its most severe forms, it can lead to painful cracking, difficulty regulating body temperature, and other significant physical and emotional challenges. These struggles can have a profound impact on daily life, mobility, and mental health.

At ISG we provide a supportive network of information, advice, and emotional support for individuals and families affected with ichthyosis. Our mission is to empower everyone with the resources they need to better understand the condition and feel less isolated.

We are passionate advocates, working to raise awareness and educate both medical professionals and the public about ichthyosis. We also fund research, which remains vital but underfunded. Research is key to finding better treatments and ultimately improving lives.

Our mission is to be a voice for those affected by ichthyosis. Through sharing personal stories, hosting events, and fundraising, we’re building a community so people feel less isolated. Our goal is a future where individuals and families with ichthyosis receive the care, support and treatment they truly deserve.
