Headroom Young People's Charity
Supporting vulnerable young people with their mental health
Headroom is a neurodiverse team of therapists offering accessible, one-to-one therapeutic support for young people aged 11–25 across Northeast Hampshire and the Surrey border. Since August 2020, we have provided both in-person and online sessions for those facing a wide range of mental health challenges. We also extend expert support to parents and families, recognising that wellbeing is shaped by the wider support network.
Our work focuses on reaching those who are most vulnerable or disadvantaged, often living with complex and overlapping difficulties. We aim to relieve distress, reduce isolation, and help young people feel understood and supported. Through a collaborative approach, we build emotional resilience, self-esteem, and a sense of self-determination, empowering individuals to take an active role in their own therapeutic journey.
We support young people to develop self-awareness, make safer and healthier choices, and strengthen their ability to protect themselves from harm. We also help rebuild trust in adults and services, encouraging positive engagement with wider support systems.
Headroom provides a welcoming, inclusive space where every individual is accepted. We make thoughtful adjustments to ensure comfort and accessibility, enabling a diverse range of young people to benefit from meaningful, personalised support.
