Women's Aid Federation England

Until women and children are safe.

1 in 3 women over the age of sixteen will experience domestic abuse in their lifetime. It’s been described as a “national emergency”, but it’s an epidemic that’s often hiding in the shadows.

Women’s Aid is the national charity working to eradicate domestic abuse in the UK. For over fifty years, we have increased public awareness, supported survivors, and advocated for policy change that protects women and girls from violence. We’re a federation of over 180 member services across England, who provide direct help and refuge to survivors fleeing abuse.

Through the feminist allyship of our fundraisers, we’re able to continue supporting these member services, and provide expert support to women suffering in silence when refuge space is out of reach. Our resources include our Survivors’ Forum, No Woman Turned Away project, and Love Respect website (our dedicated online support and education resource for young people).

We’ve launched early intervention programmes, such as Expect Respect, to educate the next generation on spotting the red flags and stopping abuse in it’s tracks. On top of this, we have tirelessly campaigned to raise awareness of the devasting impact of domestic abuse. This has included our Hear Them or Grieve Them campaign, which advocates for safer family courts to protect children from perpetrators.

By fundraising for Women’s Aid, you’ll be helping us support thousands of women and children every year to escape domestic abuse and find safer, brighter futures. Together, we can build a world where violence and misogyny aren’t accepted - in our schools, in our justice system, in our homes.
