Every day in the UK over 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke, robbing survivors and their families of the life they once knew. Mums, dads, grandparents, young people, even children can have a stroke. Brain damage, caused by a stroke, can leave survivors unable to move, see, speak, or even swallow. The effects can be more than physical, too, with many survivors also left with personality changes and depression. With strength, determination and the right support, recovery is possible.
