STAMMA is the leading national UK charity for people who stammer.
We've been going since 1978 and provide information and support for people who stammer, and campaign to challenge the barriers and the stigma that face people who stammer.
Our current campaign seeks to prevent people who stammer being hung up on, laughed at or talked over when making phone a phone call to a business or organisation.
Help support our campaign to end the nightmare that phone calls can be for people who stammer. Currently 65% of calls from people get mishandled.
Help us make sure businesses take accessibility seriously. And ensure that their voice recognition systems recognise stammered speech, and if they aren’t, they aren’t used.
Help us ensure that call agents are trained, so we aren’t hung up on or talked over. That it’s understood that saying our name is difficult.
Help us with the resources we need to make a real difference. So that children and young people no longer grow up in a hostile world – where stammering is seen as something to hide.
