The Mindstep Foundation is a registered charity dedicated to mental health and suicide prevention through research, support, and awareness.
Established in memory of Max Davies, who died by suicide in 2018 aged 22, the charity was founded by his family to help prevent others experiencing a loss to suicide.
Since 2019, Mindstep has supported suicide prevention research at the University of Glasgow’s Suicidal Behaviour Research Laboratory (SBRL), led by renowned Professor Rory O’Connor. Alongside research, Mindstep delivers suicide prevention training, funds the training of counsellors to deliver subsidised therapy and raises awareness through advocacy, talks, events, and its limited podcast series.
