    ·       Up to 7.2 million people in the UK are currently living with kidney disease

    ·       22 people start renal replacement therapy (I,e dialysis) every day in the UK

    ·       The average wait for a kidney is 2-3 years, but many wait longer

    ·       Around 257 people are waiting for a Kidney Transplant in Wales

    ·       6 people die in the UK every week waiting for a kidney transplant

    ·       35% of people waiting for a kidney transplant are from minority ethnic backgrounds

    ·       30% of patients with chronic kidney disease have a family member with kidney disease

Since 1967, Kidney Wales has been making a real difference to the lives of kidney patients and their families. We don't receive any government funding, we rely on your support to keep changing lives.

  • We educate and raise awareness amongst the general public.
  • We fund research that helps Welsh kidney patients & is carried out in Wales
