City Harvest is London's first food charity and we rescue food, people and planet.

We take surplus, in-date food from across the food industry and redistribute it to around 300 community parthers across London, for FREE, helping feed people in real need, helping the environment and saving the voluntary sector valuable time and money.
 

City Harvest addresses two main social issues; food waste and food poverty. 8-10% of greenhouse gas emissions come from food going to landfill and more than half a million tonnes of edible food goes to waste in London alone, each year. At the same time, 1 in 4 people regularly skip meals due to cost of living and around 180,000 families in London have less than £3 a day to spend on food.

By re-distributing food that would otherwise be wasted, we make businesses more sustainable and more impactful. We take food to grassroots organisations that feed some of our most vulnerable fellow Londoners. After school clubs, homeless shelters, food banks, social supermarkets, community hubs; all sorts of projects use our free food as a lifeline, and we have much more to do.
