Founded and run by women who have experienced birth trauma, we are the only charity in the UK solely dedicated to supporting women and families who have experienced traumatic birth.
Part mental health charity, part campaigning charity, we work to support parents and families, and improve parents’ experience of birth - engaging and educating health professionals, and taking part in research to identify failings in maternal care. Every year 4-5% of women who give birth develop PTSD following a traumatic birth, approximately 30,000 women. We believe we were the first charity in the world to support those with birth trauma, and 2024 saw us celebrate our 20th birthday.
We have five charity places for the UK's second biggest marathon. The Manchester Marathon is a hugely popular event where you'll enjoy the thrill of being cheered on by the large crowds. If you've often thought of running a marathon but never quite had the courage to sign up, the Manchester Marathon is a great place to start - and you'll be helping us to support women who've been through traumatic birth experiences at the same time.
