Yorkshire Wildlife Trust is the only charity entirely dedicated to conserving, protecting and restoring wildlife and wild places in Yorkshire. We are driving natures recovery across Yorkshire.
We have a vision of a Yorkshire that is rich in wildlife and accessible to everyone; with more wildlife, more wild places and more people on nature’s side. We’re working to put 30% of Yorkshire’s land and seas into natural recovery by 2030, and 50% by 2050.
For nearly 80 years, we have been protecting Yorkshire's wildlife and wild places. We work across land and sea; from hills and valleys to beaches and city streets. Wherever you are in Yorkshire, you're only approximately 20 miles from one of our nature reserves - wild havens on your doorstep where you can connect with nature.
By fundraising for Yorkshire's wildlife and wild places you will be raising vital funds to drive nature's recovery in Yorkshire, taking a meaningful step towards creating a sustainable and wilder future.
On Saturday 5th September, take on a unique race experience at the Flamingo Land 5K & 10K, set within the exciting grounds of Flamingo Land Resort. This unforgettable event combines running with the sights and sounds of one of the UK’s most distinctive attractions.
The route winds through the zoo, giving runners the rare chance to pass by incredible animals including lions, tigers, cheetahs, giraffes, hippos and more. From there, the course continues through the theme park, taking you past some of Flamingo Land’s biggest rides and attractions before heading to the finish.
With two distances to choose from, the event is perfect for runners of all abilities looking for something a little different on race day. To make the day even better, your race entry also includes entry into the resort after the race, so you can enjoy the zoo and theme park once you’ve crossed the finish line.
What's coming up in the run for charity events calendar? It's never too late to join one of these great events.
